BREWERY TASTING ROOM AND BOTTLE SHOP MANAGER
Overview:
The role of Brewery Tasting Room & Bottle Shop Manager is instrumental in delivering the brand message and
purpose of Good Neighbour Brewing Co. The primary responsibility of this position is to build and grow a
successful, and competitive retail business in the Brewery’s brick and mortar Bottle Shop & Tasting Room. This position plays an important role in connecting with and engaging with our customers providing unique and memorable experiences while also planning, organizing the space and helping lead the daily management of the space, including staff. Listed below are general responsibilities associated with the role.
This role is min. 30 hours per week, with at least 80% of your time split between working on-the-floor shifts (min 4-5 shifts per week) and general management duties.
*Candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS
- Deliver a welcoming and inviting experience with exceptional customer service
- Responsible for maintaining daily operations in the Tasting Room & Bottle Shop
- Create a weekly Bottle Shop & Tasting Room schedule and manage any FOH scheduling conflicts
- Monitor inventory for merchandise, packaged products and tapped beers
- Ensure all customer facing material is updated i.e. menus, price tags etc.
- Ensure the FOH team is up to date on brewery activities ie. new beer releases, new menu items, events etc.
- Ensure the FOH team is trained on proper pouring techniques, glassware cleaning and use and other Tasting Room quality specific service requirements
- Participate in working events and special events as needed such as markets, festivals, samplings etc.
- Ensure the space is clean, tidy and welcoming for customers at all times
OPERATIONS & STRATEGY
- Weekly space walk-through to identify any opportunities to improve our customer experience, staff
performance, team morale, internal beer education
- Present ideas, assist in planning and delivering regular occurring in-house events and offerings
- Reviewing results and work together on action plans to improve profitability and efficiencies.
- Ensuring our labour and cost margins hit or exceed targets established.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- Ability and availability to work a flexible schedule min of 30 hrs per week including evenings, weekends and holidays
- A team player, open to wearing the many hats that come with working at a brewery
- A people person motivated by service and experience
- Prior taproom, serving and retail experience
- Great communication skills
- Smart Choices Certification is mandatory
- Passion and some knowledge of beer and the local craft beer industry
- Excited about the local makers - beer and all others

Compensation
Hourly rate based on experience. Rate range of $17.50-$20/hour plus tips.
