

PACKAGING LEAD

We are looking for a Packaging Lead to oversee and execute daily packaging operations at our Brewery located at 110 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg.
Overview
As the Packaging Lead, you will oversee and execute the safe, efficient operation of the packaging line and ensure production goals, quality standards, and compliance procedures are met. You will supervise team members, troubleshoot line issues, and support continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with the production team to maintain schedule compliance and product integrity. Key duties involve the ability to work within a small production team, ensuring quality control, safety, maintaining packaging standards and equipment, managing inventory, and coordinating packaging runs under the direction of the Head Brewer in order to meet production goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in a brewery setting and familiarity with packaging machinery.
Key Responsibilities

Packaging Operations: Operating and troubleshooting various packaging equipment, such as canning and kegging machinery.
Packaging Support: Working with the Head Brewer to ensure packaging schedules align with overall production plans.
Reporting Duties: Complete daily packaging records and communicate to the Head Brewer in a timely manner.
Quality Control: Monitoring product quality at all stages of the packaging process and ensuring compliance with brewery standards. -
Equipment Maintenance: Performing basic maintenance on packaging equipment to ensure it runs efficiently.

Inventory Management: Managing packaging materials and finished products, which may include tracking inventory and assisting with receiving and shipping.

Cellar Support: Lead the cleaning and sanitizing of the canning line, kegs, and any other related equipment. Assisting with general daily cleaning and organizing in the Brewery.

Safety and Cleanliness: Adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Required Qualifications and Skills

Brewery Experience: Previous experience in a brewery or related production role is preferred.

Equipment Knowledge: Strong understanding of how to operate and maintain packaging equipment.

Team Player: Ability to work under the direction of the head brewer, communicate effectively, and be a part of a small, but dynamic team.

Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure product quality and accurate packaging.

Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, move, and operate equipment, often in demanding conditions. (lift 30L and 50L kegs, lift flats of beer, etc)

Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of identifying and resolving issues that arise during the packaging process. Be self-directed, task-oriented, and have a willingness to learn new skills.
Pay: starting at $45,500, based on experience
Hours: Full-Time shift work, 40 hours per week, days, evenings and some weekends
